Rukūʿ
After reciting Sura of al-Hamd and al-Tawhid, we perform an act of rukūʿ, which is to bow to an extent that we are able to place the palms on the knees.
In rukūʿ, we recite the dhikr:
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيْمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ
subḥāna rabbiyal ʿaẓīmi wa biḥamdih
My great Lord is free from imperfections, and I praise Him.
Or instead of, we can say three times:
سبحان الله 3 times
Subḥānal lāh 3 times
Allah is free from imperfections
After rukūʿ
After rukūʿ, we stand up, become still, and recite:
سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ
samiʿal lāhu liman ḥamidah ‘allāhu akbar’
God listens to one who praises Him Allah is greater [ than what He is described as]
And now we perform prostration
