Michael Bloomberg Exploring

Michael Bloomberg adWhile New York Mayor and business Billionaire, Michael Bloomberg has told about everyone on earth that he has “no intention” of running for President in 2008, there is serious speculation about his bid.

The speculation has plagued my email inbox and sometimes the Internet Radio shows that I’m honored to be a guest on. Actually, I’ll admit this very forwardly: I’ve given both answers when asked about if I think the Mayor will attempt a run. After seeing the ad shown in this article while visiting a publication I’m affiliated with, I’m convinced.

Michael Bloomberg is running.

Nader articulated the exact same sentiment on June 21st while on MSNBC’s Hardball. Nader said, “He’s running.” I want to differentiate the views here. There are those who believe Mayor Bloomberg will not run, those who believe he will end up running, and those who believe he’s running already. It’s a lonely vessel, however Nader and I are planted firmly in the last.

When Former Senator and Law & Order actor Fred Thompson responded to Michael Moore’s debate challenge Conservatives cheered. I stood back and asked the question that came about a week later by most political shows: What is he doing responding?

The Thompson video went viral, a draft movement was taking place, and the man polls second without debating.

So I pose this question: What is Michael Bloomberg doing running Google Ads? (Trust me I ran into it quite a few times!)

What is Michael Bloomberg doing updating his site or asking people to sign up for “Mike Updates?” Bloomberg has launched an exploratory committee as far as I’m concerned. Why be boggled down with Big Media spin, debate invitations, speculation on your devotion to the office your currently in, or FEC reporting when…….. well, you’re Mike?

Nader put it best, “when you have that kind of money, you can start late.”

After all, Bloomberg didn’t have to make a high school drama scene in the political arena by casting out his GOP membership if he plans on exclusively pursuing purely philanthropic pursuits after his tenure as Mayor, as he’s articulated.

I hopped on MySpace thinking that the ads were forgettable, only to find that there was a main event in New York City happening the following day. It was the Draft Michael Bloomberg meeting. Last month - they had chairs of this movement in all 50 states.

Still there’s doubt when Bloomberg, in hopes to either fan the flames or squash skepticism said, “I Intend To Be Mayor For 925 Days.”

I applaud the Mayor on at least looking at his options. However shall his movement be half as great as Thompson’s following - I think the Mayor will bow to the will of the people.

Intentions. Intentions. Intentions.

Let’s not forget the crazy factor of New Yorkers though.

My thoughs on Bloomberg is he wont run he told Rudy that he wont run so he wont.Even if he did he wont win he is a liar and a fake I dont like him.The only thing he will get is liberal vote.

I think that he will run if and only if Rudy falls behind. Bloomberg can easily create the buzz by buying google ads and what not. This is a political move to try and take some of those NY voters away from Rudy and have them join his camp. If he gets enough support in NY and in the rest of the states then he might. He might just be trying to see what his chances are… Even if he beats Rudy, I don’t think he can beat Romney.

As much as I like Mike, and especially because he is independent, I like Ron Paul even more.

Mayor Bloomberg, if you’re reading this blog, please read this. Ross Perot. That’s the only name you need to remember to keep your sanity. Great people fail and fail miserably, when they reach for that last 1% of glory that seem to be within reach. Leave that 1% alone and you will be a satisfied man having a long fruitful life.

MySpace gets a Redesign Finally

Finally MySpace works up enough courage to redesign their homepage. Unfortunately there are many UI and functionality flaws. Besides copying facebook on absolutely everything they can (or try) - must they also half-butt their design?

McCain’s Coming Endorsements

This is the closing round. I stated a very long time ago that if Romney and Giuliani let McCain survive to Super Tuesday, that would be his day.
There’s a story out about it, so I suppose I can go ahead and confirm it. It’s true. Senator John McCain will be rolling out endorsements over the [...]

Florida Serves Romney

Apparently only Republicans care about Florida, since Howard Dean and the DNC decided to take all delegates away from Democratic voters..
Last night’s major loss was probably a surprise to the Romney camp. While McCain had the endorsements from Senator Mel Martinez, which frankly came at no surprise, and Governor Charlie Crist, there were several factors [...]

Growing Scandals in South Carolina

If you thought the political divide in 2000 was rough, check out the latest happenings of the Republican Primary. For those of you who don’t know. South Carolina was won by President George W. Bush during the race for the Republican nomination and stopped Senator John McCain’s momentum when McCain fell victim of the [...]

Senator John McCain in South Carolina

I’ve always had a pleasurable time listening to the McCain articulate his governing strategy and of course a little straight talk. In a blogger’s conference call that seemed dominated by the same Conservative publications that declared his campaign dead several months ago.
The Senator sounded full of energy and unusually excited going to his fourth event [...]

Novak and Akbar

Recently I wrote a piece entitled, “Huckabee, Give Me a Break.” Because of my roots in the theological community, and more specifically the Southern Baptist community, I was aware of the political pulse of the largest evangelical group.
Syndicated Columnist and media guru Robert Novak touched on this point earlier today. He’s always precise and very [...]

Huckabee, Give Me a Break

We seriously might be the more fickle party of the two. Right when it looks like we might, just might, have a fighting chance we are told to support someone else. Gov. Mike Huckabee is likeable. Sure. So?
Let’s take a look a Huckabee.
As a Conservative he has a troubled record. As a Governor he was [...]

A War Worth Fighting

Recently I wrote an article entitled, A Republican Need. I received an encouraging comment telling me that I sent out a “call to arms.” I was moved and proud.
Now, just one day later I write with the same passion and a greater resolve. I’m calling all to arms!
McCain and I once discussed Internet Taxation and [...]
